Therapy for Expats, Nomads, Internationals & Intercultural Couples
Individual and couples therapy for people building a life across borders — wherever "home" currently is.
Living internationally can be deeply rewarding — and it can also feel lonely, destabilising, and quietly exhausting. My work is with expats, digital nomads, internationals and intercultural couples navigating the gap between the life they chose and what it actually costs to build it: anxiety, loneliness, identity drift, relational strain, or simply the sense that something's off even though everything looks the way you planned it.

What are you struggling with?

01
Loneliness & Lack of Close Relationships
You can have a full calendar and still feel like nobody actually knows you. Every friendship restarts from zero, so none of them get the chance to go deep. Dating moves at swipe speed, with no time to build anything that goes deeper. I know this feeling well — lost inside a party crowd, supposed to have a great time.
Gestalt therapy is all about building meaningful connection and sustaining relationships, even when life is as unpredictable and turbulent as it gets.
03
Anxiety, Depression, Burnout & Emotional Fatigue
Anxiety and depression often hide behind busyness and adventure — the next trip, the next plan, a life that looks full from the outside. When the momentum slows, what's left is the emptiness and a deep sadness. Sometimes it's anxiety with no clear source — just a constant low hum of unease. Sometimes you feel nothing but extremely tired and all powered out.
Therapy helps you understand what's behind your anxiety and depression, and find ways to deal with it. We work on finding new energy sources, re-learning how to rest and rebuild your boundaries.
02
Crisis of Identity & Belonging
You left behind a version of yourself that made sense in a familiar context. The confidence and social ease you had at home don't always translate abroad. You feel untethered from your previous life and sense of self? You wonder, "Where is home?" — the place you came from doesn't feel like it anymore, and you haven't found a new one yet? You're struggling to feel like you belong?
Therapy gives you a space to examine both inner and outer shifts and find your place in the world.
04
ADHD & the Wandering Mind
New places, new stimulation, constant novelty — it's part of why so many ADHD minds are drawn to this lifestyle in the first place. But the same novelty that keeps you engaged also strips away the routines most ADHD strategies rely on. Back home, your daily routine was quietly doing a lot of the work for you — the same streets, the same faces, the same rhythm. Move abroad, and that support disappears.
We build structure and a support system flexible enough to move with you.
05
Love & Relationship Challenges
Couples Therapy for Partners from Different Cultural Backgrounds
Emigration and expat life amplifies whatever tension already exists in a relationship. Cultural misunderstandings, distance from family, and the stress of navigating a foreign environment together compound into something that stresses and breaks up even loving relationships.
I work with intercultural couples, and internationally mobile partners. Our work might consist of an honest look at what's underneath the friction, finding the couple's resources, and helping redefine your relationship when shifts happen.

Work with me!

Hi, I am Anna — a Gestalt therapist and systemic counsellor, PhD, with a private practice in Berlin and online.
I am helping people become happier, healthier, and more self-aware in their everyday lives.
I was born in Ukraine, studied in France, and my home base is in Berlin, Germany. I met my partner, who is US-American, in Israel. I have also spent extended periods living and working in countries including Kenya, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Russia, Austria, and China.
My work with expats and internationals is shaped not only by my professional training, but also by my personal experience of living internationally for many years. I understand firsthand the emotional complexity of building a life across cultures — including the excitement, freedom, identity shifts, loneliness, instability, and nervous system strain that can come with constant adaptation to new environments.
